Preparations for the biggest celebration of local music are beginning - the call for entries for the 55th Festival of Folk Music Ptuj 2024 has been announced. It will take place on Friday, September 6, 2024, when pleasant local melodies will once again resonate in Ptuj. Ensembles will compete for awards in two categories - the category of classic quintets and among other ensembles. This year, the audience will also play a role - both radio listeners and festival visitors will select the festival's best song by combining their ratings. In addition to RADIO-TEDNIK, d.o.o., the festival's preparation and execution will involve Media24, RTV Veseljak, and the magazine Muzika.

Experience history with groups that preserve the tradition and culture of the Middle Ages. They come from near and far, from Slovenia, Croatia, Slovakia, Austria, and the German twin city of Burghausen. The town comes alive with a medieval market. The event is enriched each year by an art colony, an award ceremony for winemakers, and music played on magical instruments at the castle. The program begins with a parade of groups through the town, culminating in a gathering at the Town Square. In the afternoon, there will be games at the tournament grounds at Ptuj Castle.
