After the longest period of closure of Postojna Cave in its 200-year history, it will finally reopen on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, and a few days earlier, on June 1, 2020, the Predjama Castle will be open after more than two months of closure due to the epidemic in Slovenia.
The grand opening of Postojna Cave on June 3 will be celebrated with the opening of the renovated Promenade of Fame and the presentation of the B part of the cult Hotel Jama. These are the last two investments in the total value of 5 million Euros, with which we are rounding off our 10-year business and the comprehensive arrangement of the Postojna Cave Park. On Wednesday, June 3, we will symbolically plant linden trees in the approximately 150-year-old linden tree avenue along the Promenade of Fame.
At the same time, they are announcing the reopening of a boutique alpine oasis of peace in the middle of unspoiled nature – Villa Planinka, on June 5, 2020.
The most visited tourist cave in Europe is a place where the proteus or olm offspring are once again hatching. Postojna Cave is the only karst cave with a railway, which was built more than 140 years ago. Thus far, more than 38 million visitors from all over the world have seen Postojna Cave.
