The festival, which in 2022 placed Croatia on the map of the most important gastronomic events in Europe, will be held again this year, with an expanded program, from 14-16 April in Rovinj. During the three days of this most delicious festival, visitors will enjoy numerous lectures and panel discussions related to food, drinks, gastronomy, hospitality and the food industry. And just like last year, some of the world’s best chefs are arriving in Rovinj, which cements the Weekend Food Festival alongside the world’s best gourmet festivals.

The famous trio of chefs – Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch and Mateu Casañas – from the Spanish restaurant Disfrutar will be in attendance. Chef Simon Rogan, from L’Enclume in the UK, the initiator of the farm-to-table movement will also be there. This year, the Weekend Food Festival wants to gather “at the same table” everyone for whom food and drink are an integral part of their work in order to talk about the most important segments of the food industry: the food we eat every day and the purchasing habits of consumers. Expert discussions will explore what we can do differently, how small producers can find their way to consumers and in which direction the food industry is going.

At the festival, local restaurateurs will present a wide variety of offers, including an Istrian brunch prepared together by while some of the best restaurants in Rovinj. Numerous wine makers from different parts of Croatia will present their wares along with top domestic distilleries, craft beer makers and other alcoholic beverage producers. After a rich program of lectures and panels, discussions and tastings, the evening entertainment will feature the very best combination of live music and delicious food.

The first edition of the Weekend Food Festival, held in May last year, put Croatia and Rovinj on the map of the most influential European gourmet events by attracting more than 2,500 visitors in one place.
