Janez Bratovž about Michelin in Slovenia

The arrival of Michelin guide for restaurants that will receive the (Michelin) stars will probably mean a lot to them, as they have strived towards maintaining a high standard before. This will become a conformation that they are on the right track. Certainly, this will also grab the attention of the media, and the restaurants, which will receive the Michelin stars will become (even) more exposed. To every chef, the (Michelin) star means a lot.

Bine Volčič about Michelin in Slovenia

“In my opinion, the arrival of Michelin’s culinary guide to Slovenia is great and the time is (just) right as our (Slovenian) cuisine is mature enough for it. Chefs, together with the local producers and winemakers have been ready for this “next step” forward for several years now.”

Marko Pavčnik about Michelin in Slovenia

I believe that Michelin will put Slovenia on the culinary map because it is the most powerful and important guide in gastronomy. I hope the evaluation is independent and of high quality, as we all want it to be.”

Grega Repovž about Michelin in Slovenia

“I think that for most things, both in life and in business, it is better that they happen organically, naturally (if you will). Not to rush towards achievement at all costs. This usually takes a lot of time, willpower and patience. Achievements are then sweeter and more prized and usually last longer. That would probably be better with Michelin too, but the harsh reality is that the guide probably would never come to Slovenia by himself. Or so, who knows. Maybe when the time would be right for everyone to mature in that sense. Both providers and customers.”

Igor Jagodic about Michelin in Slovenia

I think the arrival of Michelin (Guide) is very important because it will finally place on the culinary map of the world. Aside from the fact that this guide is a “bible” for many guests when deciding which restaurants to visit or where they will travel. It is also a confirmation for us, a confirmation that we are doing well, that we have good restaurants in Slovenia.
