Description
Kocbek’s BIO Cold-Pressed Pumpkin Seed Oil is made from carefully selected and purified pumpkin seeds of the highest quality. During the cold-pressing process, there is no further treatment of the seeds. The seeds are not ground, heated, or roasted; only the oil is extracted from the whole seeds. As a result, the oil has a slightly lighter greenish-red color, a very gentle aroma, and a taste that resembles raw pumpkin seeds. The production yield of cold-pressed pumpkin seed oil is significantly lower, as at least six kilograms of pumpkin seeds are required to produce one liter of oil using this method.
Due to the cold-pressing process, the oil retains all the nutrients (vitamins and minerals) present in the seeds. BIO Cold-Pressed Pumpkin Seed Oil is a rich source of tocopherols, containing approximately 50 mg of vitamin E per 100 grams of oil.
In Kocbek’s oil mill, they still uphold the tradition of processing that began in 1929. They collaborate with local producers and use exclusively Slovenian-origin raw materials (pumpkin seeds).
Cold-pressed pumpkin seed oil differs from the oil obtained through the warm-pressing method. Consequently, the oil produced through cold pressing lacks the characteristics of warm-pressed oil. It has a lighter color, is less dense, has a subtle or almost no aroma, and its taste is very mild, resembling raw pumpkin seeds.
Usage:
Due to its mild flavor, you can use cold-pressed pumpkin seed oil in various culinary preparations. It can be used in sauces, as a pasta dressing, in risottos, in cold and hot meat dishes, and pairs well with fish. It can also be used in desserts and for preparing various spreads.
Storage:
Store the oil in a sealed container, in a cool and dark place.
