The tastiest spring week of the year is coming back for the spring edition of the Restaurant week!
Restaurant Week remains one of the most prestigious culinary events in Slovenia, and in 2026 it continues to promote top-quality gastronomy at accessible prices. The event takes place twice a year – in spring and autumn – when selected restaurants across the country prepare exclusive menus highlighting seasonal local ingredients and the creativity of Slovenia’s best chefs.
This year’s edition also places even greater emphasis on sustainability, the zero-waste philosophy, and new opportunities for food lovers to discover the latest trends in Slovenian gastronomy.
What Is Restaurant Week?
Restaurant Week is one of the most popular culinary events in Slovenia, attracting more than 110,000 lovers of fine cuisine every year.
The event encourages chefs’ innovation and creativity while promoting the use of local ingredients. At the same time, it contributes to the promotion of sustainable gastronomy.
In this year’s spring edition, more than 120 top restaurants across Slovenia will participate with their leading chefs.

What Do the “Hearts” Mean?
Restaurants participating in Restaurant Week are rated using a heart system awarded by culinary critic Uroš Mencinger. Each heart represents the level of gastronomic experience:
- 1 heart – reliable quality with pleasant ambience and good food
- 2 hearts – a high level of culinary creativity and technical skill
- 3–4 hearts – an outstanding gastronomic experience with refined service and carefully selected ingredients

Reservations open from March 9.
Guests are advised to book as early as possible, as the most popular time slots fill up quickly. Reservations can be made easily through the official Restaurant Week website.
“Selected Quality – Slovenia”
This year the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food is again supporting the event through the promotion of the label “Selected Quality – Slovenia.”
Selected Quality Slovenia
Once again, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food joins Restaurant Week with Slovenian meat producers and processors, presenting themselves with the promotional campaign “selected quality – Slovenia“. Restaurateurs are invited to label quality Slovenian, certified beef, and poultry meat from the “selected quality” scheme on their menus with the “selected quality – Slovenia” label. Restaurant Week, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, and Slovenian meat producers and processors aim to promote the greater use of local ingredients in Slovenian taverns and restaurants through joint promotion.
