We could say there is finally some good news! Our talented Slovenian illustrator Alja Horvat was placed on Forbes list 30 Under 30.

We would like to congratulate Alja on this achievement!

Alja Horvat is 23 years old illustrator based in Slovenia, where she also grew up. She is currently finishing her degree at the University of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana. Art has always been a passion of hers, and she decided to take it more seriously in 2017.

Alja Horvat started illustrating as a hobby while studying in Ljubljana. Her passion quickly evolved into a business creating illustrations for brands, selling art online and wholesale to shops. She’s worked with Renault, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, and the Time’s Up campaign. She’s currently doing an artist residency with Causebox.

She mainly works with her Wacom Intous graphic tablet, but she also loves traditional painting with gouache and acrylics. She prefers gouache, since it gives illustrations such a neat and clean look, almost identical to what she creates on a graphic tablet. She is inspired by everything that surrounds her, mostly by nature and museums. Being a big fan of 60s, 70s and 80s we can feel the nostalgia in her illustrations. Her favorite artists are Josef Frank, Henri Matisse and Pierre Boncompain.
