On Saturday, 8 August 2026, Severina delivered one of the biggest regional music spectacles of the summer in front of a sold-out Pula Arena. The ancient amphitheatre was packed to capacity, while at certain moments nearly 70 musicians joined Severina on stage. Severina brings the Ja samo pjevam tour to Pula
Following major arena concerts, including two sold-out nights at Arena Zagreb and a performance at the Gripe sports hall in Split, Severina brought her current concert concept to the spectacular setting of Pula’s ancient Roman amphitheatre.
The Ja samo pjevam tour puts Severina’s voice, her songs and emotional interpretation firmly in the spotlight. The performance is centred around music and storytelling, accompanied by carefully designed visual elements that complement the atmosphere of the historic venue.
Severina opened the concert with her hit Brad Pitt
The audience eagerly awaited the start of the highly anticipated concert in the sold-out Arena, and Severina opened the evening with one of her most recognisable hits, Brad Pitt. From the very first notes, practically the entire amphitheatre was singing along with her, immediately setting the tone for the night ahead.
The concert had already sold out almost a month before the event, continuing the remarkable success of the Ja samo pjevam tour following two sold-out nights at Arena Zagreb, a show at Split’s Gripe venue and numerous other concerts across Croatia and the region.
Pula Arena, however, added something truly special to the entire concert concept. Two-thousand-year-old stone arches, the summer night sky, modern lighting production and thousands of voices singing Severina’s greatest hits together created a backdrop that is difficult to compare with any conventional concert hall.
An unforgettable return to Pula Arena
Severina’s performance in Pula marked another important moment in her long-standing connection with the city. She first performed in Pula in 1993, when she took part in the Sedma noć event and sang the song Paloma Nera.
More than three decades later, she returned with one of the largest music productions of her career.
Nearly 70 musicians on stage
Although there had been talk before the concert of an orchestra of around 30 musicians, the final line-up turned out to be considerably larger.
Severina was accompanied by her band, an orchestra, string musicians and brass players, while for several songs they were joined by another 36 members of the Val and Josip Kaplan choirs. At certain moments, this brought the number of musicians on stage to almost 70, giving her biggest hits a powerful, almost cinematic sound.
The large-scale production was enhanced by lighting effects, video projections and visuals tailored to individual songs. Despite the spectacular staging, Severina’s voice, her music and her direct connection with the audience remained at the heart of the performance.
A concert filled with emotion
It became clear during the more emotional moments of the evening that this was far more than just another major summer concert. Severina was visibly moved during the performance and wiped away tears on stage several times.
She dedicated the concert to Sven Dukić, her late friend and a long-time collaborator of Oliver Dragojević, who, according to Severina, had spent years encouraging her to perform at Pula Arena again. Dukić was also closely connected with the history of major music events in Pula.
This gave Severina’s return to the Arena an additional layer of symbolism. She had first performed in Pula back in 1993, when she premiered the song Paloma Nera at the Sedma noć event. More than three decades later, she returned as one of the biggest regional pop stars, presenting one of the largest productions of her current career in front of a sold-out amphitheatre.

Severina’s stage outfit also attracted plenty of attention. She performed in a fringed mini dress with a corset featuring motifs of Roman columns, directly referencing the architecture of the ancient venue.

Ahead of the concert, Severina also released two new songs, Nisam kriva ja (Bezosjećajna) and Pozovi me ti (Anksiozna), continuing a new chapter in her musical career alongside the hits her audience has known and loved for decades.
For many visitors from Slovenia, the concert in Pula was one of the most appealing major music events of the summer thanks to Istria’s proximity. The sold-out Arena once again proved that, even after more than three decades in the music industry, Severina remains one of the most popular and recognisable music artists in the region.
