A hint of the sea is to be found in the Alps, specifically at Kotlar in the centre of Kobarid. A restaurant in the conventional sense of the word, there’s an elegant ambience that’s best enjoyed after dark.
For dinner, whether it be romantic or celebratory in essence, the specialities include a mixed seafood entree, karst ham with mushrooms, grilled crab and of course the local delicacy, Kobarid ‘štruklji’.
After dinner some immediate relaxation may be in order; rooms with breakfast are available, as is a Turkish sauna/solarium. One of Slovenia’s best restaurants.
