European Food Summit
The European Food Summit is an event that spreads awareness of the global impact of food. It unites great minds from around the world who understand the meaning and power of food in its entirety. Through their stories, scientists, researchers, top chefs, poets, writers, journalists, and influential individuals shall teach, inspire and encourage us to think forward and work toward a better and more sustainable future.
The European Food Summit is intended for anyone who wishes to change the world for the better, regardless of their profession. Whether you are a nutritionist, food grower, chef, gourmet, hotelier, entrepreneur or foody. The EFS is dedicated to our future, in which everyone plays a role.
It’s time we bring more to the table!
European Food Summit is an advanced sustainable platform offering concrete solutions on how to change the attitude towards food through action.
Becoming the leading platform which raises awareness of the global impacts of food and highlights the importance of an individual in tackling Europe’s sustainable future.
Since there are about 88 million tons of wasted food in Europe per year, we are raising the level of food culture and offer ways of diminishing the amount of wasted food. By purchasing local produce, we create unique culinary masterpieces, support local farmers and do not leave any carbon print behind us. Only wasted food in Europe could feed all the hungry in the world twice. Therefore, through sustainable action, we promote responsibility for food.
Each of us has an important role.
On this occasion, we would like to congratulate Martin Jezeršek and his team for organizing the event in 2020!

He did not want to give out more about how large the team of critics was or how many restaurants they would rate. However, he emphasized that Slovenia’s culinary potential has increased tremendously to this date and how much the Michelin guideis of great importance for tourism of the rated country.
You take away more, when you throw away less.
