According to provisional data, in January and February, 2020 tourist workers in tourist accommodation establishments in Slovenia recorded over 584,000 tourist arrivals and 1.6 million tourist overnights.
In comparison to last year, this means there were 0.7% more arrivals and 0.5% more overnight stays than in the same period last year.
In the first two months of 2020, 584,507 tourist arrivals and 1,624,870 overnight stays were recorded, which represents a 0.7% increase in tourist arrivals and a 0.5% increase in tourist overnight stays. Of these, foreign guests generated 359,699 arrivals (61.5% of all), which represents a 4.8% increase in tourist arrivals and 957,552 overnight stays (58.9% of all), which represents 3 % compared to 2019. 4% increase in tourist overnight stays of foreign guests.
In February 2020, a total of 301,853 tourist arrivals and 853,049 overnight stays were recorded, which represents a 4.2% decline in tourist arrivals and a 0.6% decline in tourist overnight stays, compared to February 2019. In February, foreign guests generated 172,636 tourist arrivals (57.2%) and 460,879 tourist overnight stays (54% of all). In February, the number of arrivals (+2.9%) and overnight stays of foreign guests (+ 6.1%) was recorded.
Most overnight stays in February were made by tourists from Italy (13%), Serbia (12%), Austria (12%), Croatia (11%), Hungary (6%) and Germany (5%).
