Renowned culinary master Ana Roš Stojan, along with her teams from restaurants Hiša Franko, Bistro Ana and Slon, and Pekarna Ana, have come together in the wake of the recent floods to organize a charitable dinner event.
In this noble initiative, they have launched an auction for tickets to the dinner, with the proceeds going to those affected by the floods. The dinner is scheduled for September 4th at Bistro Ana and Slon in Ljubljana.
“Our decision to join forces stems from a deep compassion for all those who have been affected by the floods in Slovenia. Among the affected are people we know, our friends, and colleagues,” explained Ana Roš Stojan about her decision.
The entire amount collected will be directed through a charitable fund established by Ana Roš Stojan and her husband Urban Stojan Roš, which was opened with Slovenian Caritas on the occasion of their wedding. This fund will aid a family that has lost everything.
The team led by Ana Roš emphasizes that the charitable dinner is not a one-time event, but rather the first step in an ongoing commitment. “Our collective support will not end with this dinner. We will continue to stand by the family in the future and assist them until they can establish a life with at least a modicum of human dignity,” says Ana Roš Stojan.
Joining her in the kitchen will be culinary master Martina Breznik from Hiša Raduha in Luče. The preparation of the charitable dinner will also involve some former members of the Hiša Franko team, including sommelier Alen Audič and pastry chef Maša Salopek.
The starting price for the full menu with wine or non-alcoholic pairings is set at €520 per person. Due to limited seating, interested parties are advised to swiftly participate in the ticket auction. Those unable to attend the dinner but still wishing to contribute can donate directly to Slovenian Caritas. Further information is available on the website https://www.hisafranko.com/.
Furthermore, the Hiša Franko team, as an independent unit, has decided to offer additional financial assistance to flood victims. A portion of the proceeds from lunch sales in Kobarid until the end of October will be dedicated to the same charitable fund established with Caritas.
