The Tourist Day of Guides will be celebrated by the Maribor Tourist Board with a special event on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Two free guided tours of the city center will be available for this occasion.
Following a successful year in 2023, during which the Maribor guiding service under the auspices of the Maribor Tourist Information Center (TIC Maribor) conducted 476 tours—a 50% increase compared to the previous year of 2022—and attracted 10,102 participants, marking a 75% increase over the previous year, the board eagerly anticipates further development of the city’s tourism offerings.
The highest number of tours occurred in September, October, and May, with visitors primarily participating in individual and group tours of up to 30 people each. 43% of all tours were conducted in German (experiencing a 76% increase compared to 2022), followed by tours in English (24%) and Slovenian (24%).
