When we talk about Croatian brands that have managed to break through onto the world stage, the story of the Chiavalon family deserves a special chapter.
From Vodnjan, a small Istrian town deeply connected to olive growing, brothers Sandi and Tedi Chiavalon have built a brand that is today synonymous with quality and a modern approach to a traditional craft. This spring, the family took another significant step in their business with the launch of Chiavalon Olive Theory – a premium cosmetics line that brings the beneficial potential of the olive directly to the skin.

Chiavalon Olive Theory – From olive tree to skin
From the very beginning, Chiavalon has nurtured a philosophy that combines tradition, sustainability and innovation, with a deep commitment to quality at every step of production. From that same philosophy, Chiavalon Olive Theory was born naturally – a sophisticated dermo-cosmetic line developed over nearly a decade of research and development.
A key role in the project was played by Emanuela Pinzan Chiavalon, wife of Tedi Chiavalon, who spent years researching the dermo-cosmetic potential of the olive with a clear vision: to develop cosmetics that would be effective, gentle on the skin and fully grounded in the real benefits of the olive.
“Olive Theory is a natural continuation of everything we have been building through Chiavalon for years – quality, sustainability and constant investment in development. We wanted to create a product that would carry the power of the olive beyond gastronomy and show just how broad its potential can be,” says Emanuela Pinzan Chiavalon.

The line currently comprises five products: Advanced Hydra Replenish Cream, Supreme Rejuvenating Cream, Gentle Cleansing Emulsion, Velvet Hand Cream and Moisturizing Body Lotion.
Alongside this collection, a professional wellness line has been developed for the hospitality and SPA segment, which includes Phyto-Lipid Renewal Body Scrub and Molecular Glow Anti-Age Gel Mask.
The entire Chiavalon Olive Theory cosmetics line is based on the internationally award-winning Chiavalon Organic extra virgin olive oil and on bioactive compounds from fresh olive pomace. The formulas are further enriched with advanced active ingredients developed in cooperation with renowned European laboratories and an Italian cosmetics company from Milan.
A clear way of thinking behind the success
For this Istrian family, the olive has never been merely a raw material for oil production, but the foundation of an entire approach and way of thinking. It is from this conviction that their zero-waste production model emerged, in which every olive by-product is reused and given a new function – whether as a natural source of heating, as products for everyday use, or as nourishment for the soil in the olive groves.

A collaboration between two premium Croatian brands
Chiavalon’s quality is further confirmed through its collaboration with Maistra Hospitality Group, one of the leading names in Croatian premium hospitality. The pairing of two Istrian brands, whose common denominator is a high standard and dedication to quality, has resulted in a natural partnership in which Chiavalon products find their ideal setting.
Chiavalon extra virgin olive oil is part of the gourmet offering at the highly acclaimed Tekka by Lone restaurant within Hotel Lone, with which the brand recently launched a special edition olive oil, Tekka by Lone x Chiavalon, and introduced a new concept of Istrian-Japanese cuisine. The Chiavalon Olive Theory professional wellness line has also found its place within Grand Park Hotel, one of the most renowned luxury hotels on the Croatian coast.

Chiavalon will soon be further expanding the Olive Theory line with new products, among which Advanced Hydra Plump Serum, Supreme Rejuvenating Serum, Silken Dry Oil Radiance Elixir and Refining Facial Micro-Polish – a facial micro-peel that restores skin texture and stimulates epidermal renewal – stand out.
