The Belica estate, located in the picturesque Brda village of Medana in the Goriška Brda region, is one of the most authentic wine experiences in Slovenia. Its vineyards thrive in an idyllic setting where the influences of the Alps and the Adriatic Sea meet, creating unique aromatic wine notes developed over generations. Belica is not just a wine shop – it is a complete story of tradition, nature, and love for the vine.

Diverse Wine Selection

In their modernly equipped cellar, they produce various types of wine that satisfy both everyday wine lovers and more demanding connoisseurs. Among them, fresh white wines stand out, with rebula taking the lead, as well as white and red wines aged in barrique barrels, such as selected white and selected red.

The wine selection is divided into several lines reflecting the diversity of the Brda terroir:

White wines and rosé – fresh and aromatic wines, perfect for light moments and social gatherings,
Red wines – fresh linefruity, lively wines expressing varietal purity,
Selected wines – barrel-aged line – more complex and structured wines for special occasions.

Winemaking Approach and Quality

The story of Belica wines goes back through generations, when the first enthusiast of viticulture, Nonot Pepo, planted the first vines on the estate. His passion for working with nature was passed down to his sons and grandchildren, who today continue the tradition with a modern production approach, preserving the Brda character of the wines and maintaining high quality standards. Each bottle carries a part of the family’s history and the landscape that gives the wine its unique signature.

Where to Taste and Buy the Wines

Wines from the Belica estate are not only available at the estate itself. Guests and visitors can also enjoy or purchase them at:
the Belica estate in Medana,
Hiša Marica in Šmartno,
wine shops and restaurants across Slovenia.

A Deeper Brda Experience

A visit to the Belica estate is more than just a tasting – it is an experience that connects tradition, landscape, and wine into a whole. From the Brda vineyards to the bottles they produce, every visitor can feel the authenticity and quality of the Brda wine heritage.
