Foodies and wine lovers will soon have a chance to list through the fourth Slovenian edition of the renowned Gault&Millau gastronomic guide. The latest edition will be released in the second half of March. Prior to that, the director of Gault & Millau Slovenia, Mira Šemić, together with selected guests traditionally revealed the best for 2022. This year’s awards ceremony took place online, but there is a strong desire to meet again live next year – at the table and in the company of the best.
CAPTURE LIFE WITH THE BIGGEST SPOON AND ENJOY DISCOVERING EVERYTHING THAT SLOVENIA HAS TO OFFER. THIS WILL NOT ONLY FILL YOUR STOMACH AND HEART, BUT ALSO SUPPORT SLOVENIAN GASTRONOMY. (MIRA ŠEMIĆ)
“2021 was not easy for the hospitality industry, which is why it is all the more inspiring to observe the dedication and passion with which they push the boundaries in the world of gastronomy. Recipients of special awards and all those included in the guide present the rich and diverse tastes of Slovenia both on a plate and in a glass. And for that, they deserve all the congratulations and support. This is why I would like to appeal to all gourmands – capture life with the biggest spoon and enjoy discovering everything that Slovenia has to offer. This will not only fill your stomach and heart, but also support Slovenian gastronomy,” said Mira Šemić, the director of Gault & Millau Slovenia.
The importance of gastronomy is also emphasized by Ilona Stermecki, M.Sc., acting director of the Slovenian Tourist Board: “Especially in recent years, Slovenian gastronomy has attracted great attention from the international professionals, media and general public, which have often placed it at the very top of the recommended culinary countries. Gastronomy is an essential and complementary part of every tourist offer and can make an important contribution to achieving the goals of seasonalisation, diversification of tourist flows and higher added value in Slovenian tourism. Gastronomy also offers many opportunities and challenges for designing new, sustainable, often innovative products. Internationally renowned and influential gastronomic guides, such as Gault&Millau, make an important contribution to strengthening the visibility of Slovenia as a country that impresses even the most demanding foodies. This is why the Slovenian Tourist Board has been participating in the project since thevery beginning. Congratulations to all who are included in the Gault & Millau 2022 guide.
