PEEPING TOM’S DANCE-THEATRE DEBUTS IN UDINE,NEW STOP ON THE EUROPEAN TOUR WITH CHRONIQUES,THE LATEST CREATION BY GABRIELA CARRIZO
The award-winning Belgian company Peeping Tom, one of the most visionary ensembles on the international contemporary theatre scene, will make its debut in Udine with Chroniques, a new creation by the Italian-Argentine choreographer Gabriela Carrizo. Performances will take place on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 April at 8:30 pm at the Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine. The performance is part of Itinerari nel teatro contemporaneo, a project curated by CSS Teatro stabile di innovazione del Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine.

Chroniques explores the fluidity of time and human consciousness, weaving together reality, legends and perceptions. Five male figures — Seungwoo Park, Boston Gallacher, Balder Hansen, Simon Bus and Charlie Skuy — are trapped in a temporal labyrinth, transforming and clashing as they attempt to challenge immortality. Subjected to different forces and physical phenomena, their bodies reveal new forms and possibilities of existence, set within a suspended landscape in an abyssal and poetic dimension between dusk and dawn, past and future.
Through the relationship between human beings and nature, the work investigates metamorphosis and liminality, questioning the possibilities of coexistence and interaction within new forms of community.
Immersed in a monumental set design, with moving objects and an original sound composition by Raphaëlle Latini — co-author of the piece — the audience hears the sounds of a collapsing world, orchestral fragments and animated objects by Lolo y Sosaku, forming a metaphor for humanity’s resistance against time.
After stops in Reggio Emilia, Turin and Milan, Chroniques resumes its long European tour starting from Udine.
