Festival Ljubljana

Pippi longstocking festival in Velenje
Pippi is the star of the annual Pika festival in Velenje, the largest children’s festival in Slovenia, where visitors, especially families with children, enjoy the most energetic mix of culture, education and entertainment. www.pikinfestival.si
Planica
Planica, a beautiful Alpine valley in SLovenia, is the traditional venue for the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup Finals, where the world’s best ski jumpers defy gravity and where world records are set. Thousands of enthusiastic visitors gather in this year Planica will host an even bigger event – the biggest sporting event in the history of Slovenia – the 43rd FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. www.planica.si
Prešeren Fair in Kranj
Prešernov smenj or in english Prešeren fair is one of the most recognizable cultural events in Slovenia. On the anniversary of the poet’s death, on February the 8th, a fair in his name takes place in Kranj every year, accompanied by a rich cultural program and tasty culinary offer. Radovljica Chocolate Festival
It is the largest chocolate event in Slovenia, it takes place in Radovljica and includes delicious chocolate tastings, chocolate workshops for children, dance performances, cooking shows, a chocolate fashion show, guest musicians, stand-up comedy and much more. www.festival-cokolade.si
Vinska Vigred in Bela Krajina
This largest wine festival in Slovenia, attracting a large number of local and foreign lovers of the top quality Belokrajna wines, is a three-day festival of Belokrajna wines, which has firmly established itself among Slovenian tourist events. Living nativity scene in Postojna Cave
The traditional event that takes place in the mysterious underground of the Postojna Cave is one-of-a-kind experience of the world-famous and the largest Living Nativity Scenes. It’s one of the biggest and most magical Christmas events in Slovenia, staged along a 5 kilometre tourist route in the public part of Postojna Cave. www.postojnska-jama.eu
The festival of Lent, Maribor
Festival Lent is the largest international festival in Slovenia, which hosts music shows, folklore shows, jazz concerts, sport events, children workshops and street theater shows. The streets of Maribor are transformed into stages, and visitors can hang out with their friends whilst enjoying the rich music and art program, culinary delights and make some unforgettable moments. The festival is a one-week event that takes place on the beautiful embankment of Lent by the Drava River and is definitely one of our favorite festivals in Slovenia. www.festival-lent.si
Kravji bal, Bohinj
Not sure what Kravji Bal means? The annual Kravi bal (english Cow Ball) is a »local holiday«, organized by the local tourist association for more than 60 years. It is an event where locals and visitors celebrate the end of the summer grazing season. They bring herds of cattle from the mountains and a fun weekend with rich fun program and delicious homemade food is ready to start.
Beer and flower festival, Laško
In a town that is famous for its beer and flowers, it should come as no surprise that Laško plays host to a Beer and Flowers Festival annually. Every year, on the third weekend in July, approximately 150,000 fans of fun and good music from all over the world visit Laško to enjoy music, beer, flowers and cuisine at this one of a kind event not to be missed. www.pivo-cvetje.si
