Catherine’s Fair – 25. 11. 

The St. Catherine’s Day has been an important celebration in Lendava and nearby. On this day we celebrate St. Catherine of Alexandria, patron saint of the church and during this day big fairs were organized in the past. 35th Slovenian Book Fair – from 26th

Over the course of 6 days, the 35th edition of the Slovenian Book Fair will bring more than 300 events on 11 open stages and venues throughout  Cankarjev dom, Slovenia’s main Cultural and Congress Centre. With an extremely diversified program from morning till evening, running late into the night at the weekend, the Fair is more of a festival than a fair, attracting over 30,000 book lovers. This year’s book-best focus is on Europe. The guest city of 2019 is Murska Sobota, a city in North-East Slovenia.

The 35th Slovenian Book Fair will be marked by Valentin Vodnik, one of the most influential authors of the Age of Enlightenment in Slovenia, as we commemorate the 200th anniversary of his death in 2019. Info …

Switch on the Christmas Lights in the biggest Slovenian cities – 29. 11. 

Cities like Ljubljana and Maribor will switch on their Christmas lights on 29th November. In Ljubljana, the switch-on event is held next to the Prešeren Monument in the central town square of Ljubljana. In Maribor, they will turn on the lights in the city center. Come and join the festivities and let the merriment begin! What a better way to start the holiday season!
