THE SLOVENIA MAPS
THE Slovenia Summer map
Bordering Italy, Austria, Croatia and Hungary, Slovenia is surrounded by four different cultures whose various influences have been seeping over the borders for centuries and that add to the special feelings and sensations the country has to offer visitors. Slovenia is immensely accessible and just a few hours drive from Venice, Vienna, Budapest and Belgrade, to name but a few. Whether you arrive by car, train, bus, plane or boat, it’s never been easier to get here. Our summer map presents 24 of our favourite summertime destinations!
THE Slovenia Wine map
Our latest English-language Slovenian wine map, covers all three of the country’s distinct wine regions (and their nine constituent districts): From the earthy reds of Mediterranean Primorska, to the sweet whites of Podravje in the northeast to the limitless supply of refreshing cviček of Posavje in the southeast, this map is intended to give only a brief overview of Slovenia’s wine industry, one of the oldest in the world and yet still, for many, an unexplored scene. THE Slovenia Startup map
Despite being home to only two million people, in recent years Slovenia has become a leader in Europe’s IT and startup scene. Most known for being the birthplace of the hugely successful Talking Tom media empire, created by the first Slovene unicorn, Outfit7, Slovenia is also unofficially the world leader in the number of successfully funded Kickstarter projects per capita, with new ones coming all the time. What’s the secret? Most classic foreign investors are attracted by Slovenia’s strategic position at the heart of Europe, its value chains, industry clusters and centres of excellence. Startups will recognise vibrant ecosystem and great internationally focused entrepreneurial spirit. Slovenia’s development programs are aiming to achieve an innovative, technologically developed, export oriented and for foreign investors attractive destination.
THE Slovenia Events Map
When visiting Slovenia there’s a good chance that an entertaining annual event of one kind or another will be taking place. We’ve chosen a diverse sampling of local events for our inaugural THE Slovenia Events map, with culture well-represented in the form of music, film and literary festivals, sporting events contributing an almost equally large number, many traditional Slovene folk festivals providing unbeatable atmospheres, trade fairs for the business set, fashion shows for cosmopolitan visitors, ample opportunities for gourmands to sample world class food and wine, and family-friendly festivities for those with kids in tow.

THE Slovenia Fashion guide
Continuing the nearly 8-year-long tradition of our bi-annual Slovenia Shopping guides and maps, this edition of THE Slovenia Shopping is a compact, convenient and useful companion on any serious shopping trip to Ljubljana – for first-time visitors, frequent guests or even resident locals. This year we were also very proud to partner with Ljubljana Fashion Week, or #LJFW for short. In addition to a packed programme of fashion shows presenting the latest collections from some of the region’s most exciting designers, a special exhibition aiming to present the “green” aspects of the fashion industry and its move towards sustainability will be held at Town Hall. Lots more info can be found on the official #LJFW site.
THE Slovenia Restaurants guide
The Slovenia Restaurant Awards is a national selection of best Slovenian restaurants. The increasing demand from tourists for reviews of Slovenian restaurants in foreign languages, and the fact that these reviews are a rarity even in Slovene, made us realise that the process of reviewing Slovene restaurants must begin as soon as possible. Thus, in autumn 2016 we started the project with help from some Slovenian gastronomy, folklore and tourism experts. A collection of the best restaurants in Slovenia can help tourists decide where to go when seeking new culinary horizons. The selection of the best Slovenian restaurants is also meant for the general Slovenian public.
