On June 25, World’s 50 Best Restaurants were announced in Singapore. Ana Roš and Hiša Franko ranked 38th in this prestigious list and improved last year’s ranking for 10 places.

The French restaurant Mirazur, run by Argentine chef Mauro Colagreco, has been declared the best restaurant in the world. The famous Noma restaurant from Copenhagen was placed second. Third place went to Asador Etxebarri Restaurant in Spain.

This year, the organizers made a number of changes, perhaps the most important of which is that the winners of the previous years were eliminated from the competition for a year.

Let us recall:  Ana Roš, who has managed to put Slovenia on the world’s culinary map, serves “seasonal hyper-local” dishes and successfully incorporates local producers from the stunning Soča Valley. An area, which has previously more or less been known as a place for active holidays, especially thanks to the emerald green Soča River, has now become one of the trendiest foodie destinations. And we are talking about a village, which is considered remote even for Slovenians. Now, her restaurant is booked several months in advance, food writers travel from all over the world to have an interview with her. She thus hosts a number of press trips and the Slovenian Tourism Board actively participates in the story. It is important to mention that Slovenia was awarded the European Region of Gastronomy for 2021.
