Despite the fact that restaurants in Slovenia are currently still closed and only offer delivery or take out, culinary enthusiasts and foodies alike are celebrating the title of European Gastronomic region of 2021. Ljubljana as the capital of Slovenia remains [&hellip;]<\/div><\/div><\/div><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">THE AWARD SHOWS THAT THE STB&#8217;S APPROACH IN THE FIELD OF PROMOTION IS SUCCESSFUL AND CONFIRMS THAT OUR COMMUNICATION POLICIES ARE HEADED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.<\/h4><p><strong>Ilona Stermecki, M.Sc., the Acting Director of the STB<\/strong>, pinpointed on this occasion:&nbsp;<em>\u201cWe are truly proud of the new&nbsp;UNWTO&nbsp;award. I am pleased that&nbsp;the STB&#8217;s&nbsp;gastronomic video, which tells the story of&nbsp;the unique and sustainable Slovenian gastronomy, has been selected&nbsp;as the best European video in the UNWTO&#8217;s Exceptional Stories of Sustainable Tourism category.&nbsp;The award shows that&nbsp;the STB&#8217;S approach&nbsp;in the field of promotion is successful and confirms that&nbsp;our communication policies are headed in the right direction. At the same time, we consider this&nbsp;as an incentive to continue and upgrade modern and innovative promotional tools and approaches. The award also strengthens the recognition of Slovenia&#8217;s top and sustainable gastronomy, which the video presents through the stories of Michelin-starred chefs and their local suppliers, winemakers and growers.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><p>The submissions\u00a0were judged by an independent jury composed of representatives of the international media, who\u00a0gathered in Madrid for the UNWTO General Assembly.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unwto.org\/news\/2021-unwto-tourism-video-competition-winners\">5 videos were selected in each group<\/a><\/strong>, one for each global tourist region (Africa, both Americas, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Middle East). In the &#8220;Exceptional Stories of Sustainable Tourism&#8221;\u00a0category\u00a0for the region of Europe, the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UY2Q0lw785k\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Slovenia &#8211; Slovenian Gastronomy. The video was created for the\u00a0STB\u00a0by the TENT production house, headed by\u00a0internationally renowned photographer Ciril Jazbec.
