Along the two kilometres of damp photogenic tunnels are ornately decorated wooden barrels, modern production facilities, more than a few rooms that could easily be sets in any number<br> of horror films and one of the most extensive wine archives we\u2019ve ever seen in person, stacked floor to vaulted ceiling with bottles dating back more than 100 years and worth up to five figures at auction. Set above Ptuj Wine Cellar all this are the modern reception and tasting rooms, which would look like they\u2019ve been lifted directly from some 19th-century Austrian nobleman\u2019s castle, were it not for walls covered with recent international wine awards.<\/p><p>Indeed it\u2019s both one of Slovenia\u2019s most awarded and largest producers, with some 1.7m litres bottles annually &#8211; 85% of which is white.
