Have you ever wonder who is the chef behind the creation of the plate, that was used as main image of The Slovenia Restuarnt Awards 2019? Wonder no more. His name is Luka Ko\u0161ir and he is the master chef of Gosti\u0161\u010de Gri\u010d.

In the village of \u0160entjo\u0161t nad Horjulom is the delightful little inn called Gri\u010d. Many places may claim the old \u2018traditional food with a modern twist\u2019, but Gri\u010d certainly delivers on that promise. It all starts with Luka Ko\u0161ir, one of the best young chefs in Slovenia, who earned his stripes under the mentorship of the famed Janez Bratov\u017e at JB Restaurant<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Everything used in their dishes is sourced locally, and the kitchen has a strict zero waste philosophy, which is made easier by Luka’s novel techniques of fermentation. The emphasis here is on always fresh seasonal dishes, so expect a completely different menu depending on the time of year.<\/p>\n
