Saloma in SNG Drama Ljubjana – 14. 1.<\/b><\/p>\n

The story of Saloma occurs in biblical space and time, in Palestinian-biblical territory, where different nations, cultures, religions and philosophies meet. Herod Antipa – the tetrarch, the ruler of one of the four parts into which the Romans divided Palestine, hosts an event in his palace.<\/p>\n

A glimpse into Greek linguistics to Greek linguistics – 15. 1.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The conference is devoted to the Greek language and linguistics, another scientific area that has been indelibly marked by the ancient Greeks. It will look at the immense significance of Greek \u2013 a European language with the longest written tradition \u2013 for modern philology and linguistics and explore different aspects of its study including current psycholinguistic and neurolinguistic perspectives.<\/p>\n

Book. Knowledge. Reason. From Protestantism to Enlightenment – till 30. 8.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

The exhibition focuses on a time of social and social change between 1500 and 1800. The period of three centuries brought, among other things, the printing of the first Slovenian books, the rise of Jesuit college education, the changed role of men, the beginnings of women’s education in the Ursuline monastery and the Enlightenment movement in the circle of intellectuals that formed around Baron \u017diga Zois.<\/p>\n

26th Biennial of Design, BIO 26 – Common Knowledge – till 9. 2.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

The 26th Biennial of Design, curated by Austrian design curator and cultural producer Thomas Geisler together with assistant curator Aline Lara Rezende, is taking on one of the greatest challenges of our time: information. Under the motto Common Knowledge, this year\u2019s Biennial of Design tackles the information crisis. BIO 26 will present six winning projects selected through the Designathon in which groups of designers and non- designers took on the challenges pressing on the institutions of knowledge production and knowledge transmission. The projects will be presented at the 26th Biennial of Design, BIO 26 \u2013 Common Knowledge, which will take place between 14 November 2019 and 9 February 2020 in Ljubljana.<\/p>\n

Coptic Textiles from the Collection of the National Museum of Slovenia – till 24. 5.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

They testify to the wide variety of supports and decorations adorning tunics, shawls, and upholstery from the 3rd century to the period following the Arab conquests of Egypt in the late 7th century.<\/p>\n

Coptic textiles are kept and displayed in various museums worldwide and have been the subject of numerous scientific researches, discussions and exhibitions. However, as new scientific findings have brought about changes in some longstanding interpretations, the experts of the National Museum of Slovenia have decided to re-examine and re-evaluate the collection of Coptic textiles using modern scientific techniques and methods and to present these beautiful, rare and invaluable artefacts to the public in the form of a exhibition and a special publication.<\/p>\n
