A common planning mistake is to treat Kamnik as though it were the arrival point for Velika Planina. It is not. Kamnik is the attractive medieval town, while the lower cable-car terminal stands farther up the Kamni\u0161ka Bistrica valley. If you have no car, work backwards from the last journey home: verify a viable way from the mountain station to Kamnik, then confirm the bus or train to Ljubljana. A taxi booked in advance may be more sensible than relying on an uncertain connection.
