Autumn is one of the best times to discover Slovenia\u2019s wine country<\/strong>. Vineyards turn gold and red, grape harvests fill the hills with activity, wine cellars open their doors and seasonal food returns to restaurant menus.<\/p>

Slovenia has three official wine-growing regions \u2013 Primorska, Podravje and Posavje \u2013 divided into nine wine-growing districts<\/strong>, each with its own climate, landscape and characteristic wines.<\/p>

If you are visiting Slovenia between September and November, these are some of the wine destinations worth adding to your itinerary.<\/p>

1. Gori\u0161ka Brda \u2013 Golden Vineyards and Rebula<\/strong><\/h2>

For many travellers, Gori\u0161ka Brda<\/strong> is Slovenia\u2019s most photogenic wine destination. Rolling vineyard-covered hills, medieval villages and views towards Italy make autumn particularly beautiful here.<\/p>

The region is best known for Rebula<\/strong>, alongside Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.<\/p>

Visit \u0160martno<\/strong>, climb the Gonja\u010de lookout tower and book a tasting at one of the many family wineries. September brings harvest activity, while October transforms the vineyards into shades of yellow, orange and red.<\/p>
