On the rolling hills of Sremi\u010d, between Kr\u0161ko and Brestanica, the story of the Kunej family has been growing for more than 130 years \u2013 a story that unites a love for vines, wine, and \u2013 quite uniquely \u2013 chocolate. It all began in 1886, when great-great-grandfather Anton Kunej married into a homestead in Brestanica. Since then, winemaking has been passed down from generation to generation \u2013 today, the family estate is led by Ale\u0161 Kunej, together with his wife Emanuela, supported by his parents Lojze and Danica.<\/strong><\/p>

Vineyards on Prestigious Slopes<\/strong><\/h2>

The Kunej family cultivates five hectares of vineyards<\/strong> across three exceptional locations in the Posavje wine-growing region<\/strong>, where a favorable microclimate allows for perfect grape ripening. Their main grape varieties include Blaufr\u00e4nkisch (Modra Frankinja)<\/strong>, Merlot<\/strong>, Chardonnay<\/strong>, Yellow Muscat<\/strong>, Pinot Blanc<\/strong>, and Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris<\/strong>. A centuries-old yew tree<\/strong> stands in the center of their largest vineyard \u2013 a living witness to the history of this area, once cultivated by Trappist monks<\/strong> from the nearby Rajhenburg Castle<\/strong>.<\/p>
