The annual Castle Days festival offers a programme of events for the entire family. It rounds off with an open-doors day, when visitors to Ljubljana Castle can view the exhibition Slovenian History, see the Virtual Castle projection, and visit the Outlook Tower free of charge.
The festival, traditionally held around 16 May, commemorates the date in 1905, when the mayor of Ljubljana Ivan Hribar purchased Ljubljana Castle on behalf of the city from the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy for 60,200 Kronen.
The Castle Days festival will feature creative workshops for children, a so called ‘search for the dragon’s treasure’, a medieval encampment, and a knights tournament.
