The Walk along the Path of Remembrance and Comradeship and OTP Banka Three-member Team Run is one of Ljubljana’s largest recreational and commemorative events, held each May to celebrate the city’s holiday. It brings together walkers and runners of all ages, combining outdoor activity with historical remembrance and community spirit.
The Walk along the Path of Remembrance and Comradeship follows a 35-kilometre circular trail around Ljubljana, tracing the route where a barbed wire fence surrounded the city during World War II. The walk is non-competitive and accessible to participants of all ages and fitness levels, with several checkpoints along the way.
The Three-member Team Run, sponsored by OTP Banka, is a unique relay-style race where teams of three run together over 12.5 or 20 kilometres. The team must stay together throughout the race, and the time of the last team member determines the final result—highlighting teamwork, perseverance, and mutual support.
The event concludes with a lively gathering in Ljubljana’s city centre, featuring cultural programs and entertainment. It’s a celebration of freedom, unity, and active living—bringing together tradition and modern community values in the heart of Slovenia’s capital.
